From January to May you cover the second half of the syllabus. For Econs that means Macroeconomics, and Macro is the bulk of JC2.

At the same time, January to May is CCA peak season. SYF. Competitions. Orientation, if you are an OGL. None of that can wait.

Then mid-years. Then prelims in August.

So the question is how you learn all of the new content while keeping your JC1 content alive.

And the answer is the stretch you are in right now. From now to December is the one stretch of the whole two years where nobody is adding to your plate.

So we designed Headstart to do three things in that stretch.

One, go back over the JC1 Micro your own promo paper flagged, so the gaps it found get closed while they are cheap to close. Two, start Macro before school does. Three, build the skills that score: essays, case studies, evaluation.

So when your school starts Macro in January, it is the second time you are seeing it, not the first.

Headstart is 16 lessons, from the week of 19 October to 30 December.

Pre-Headstart, in October and November: the 2008 financial crisis, moral hazard and quantitative easing, taught through a film. Behavioural economics. A review of the top questions from J1 promo papers across Singapore. And seven Micro questions you must have settled before J2.

Then Introduction to Macroeconomics on 17 November. A review of this year's A Level questions the week after the paper.

Four content crashcourses: demand and supply and elasticities, market structure, market failure, government policies and failure. Four skills crashcourses: essay writing, how to revise for Economics, case study application, and evaluation. I run those on 28 and 29 November, and the ETG team runs a second round on 5 and 12 December.

Then Singapore's fiscal policy at the end of December. And the standard of living lesson, which I film on location in another city. That one is free.

The promo paper in hand

Your promo paper tells you exactly which Micro topics are thin. You have until December to go back over them before Macro starts. Here is how we use it.

  1. The Headstart page says 'October to December'. The letter says lessons start in the week of 19 October. The scripts say 'the week of 19 October'. Confirm.
  2. Prices as on the page today: Complete $1,200 (pay 12, get 4 free) and Intensive Crashcourse $680. Confirm these hold for the 2026 run before the video airs.
  3. Bring a printed Economics Volume 4 (2026 edition) if one exists, plus the five other books. If no printed copy exists yet, the presenter holds last year's Volume 4 and Bazli overlays the 2026 cover and pages (HS-A06, HS-A07 and HS-A11 to A21).
  4. The free standard-of-living lesson: the letter lists it as a free extra. The website lists 'Comparing Standards of Living' as Lesson 16. The scripts call it 'a free lesson filmed on location'. Confirm that wording.
  5. Is Ms Cherilyn happy to be named as the Upper Thomson tutor on camera?

Notes for Mr Toh before reading the script

This replaces the two post-promo videos from last year. The insight in those videos was right and it stays: January to May of JC2 is half the syllabus plus CCA peak season, so October to December is the runway. What changes is the framing. Last year's lines about 'wasting your holiday' and 'the next three months will determine whether you struggle through JC2' are out. We say what the time can do, not what they will lose.

'Singapore's top economics tutoring centre' is also out. The checkable version is on screen instead: since 2007, 4,000 plus students, 4.9 across 500 plus verified reviews.

Everything else is in your words. Section codes before each section ('M2'), pause, go. The lessons section is long; say it like you are reading your own timetable, and Bazli carries the detail on screen.

The Ng De Qi quote ('I liked that Mr Toh teaches the lessons in advance') is the whole programme in one student sentence. Bazli overlays it. You do not need to say it.
